I started my triathlon experience with local sprint triathlons – The Lincolnshire OSB series and soon found a passion for the sport… Moving up into Standard distance events I found myself for a whole year the Boston Triathlon club record holder at the Mojito Triathlon event in Peterborough – 12 months of fame passed and faded!

2017 I found myself stood lakeside in Holkham for the OSB Outlaw Half Triathlon event – a fantastic event which has the backdrop of Holkham Hall – this lit my passion for longer distance triathlons and a challenge to complete the Outlaw series… So 2018 I took on the Outlaw FULL… with the aim just to complete the event – This has become my biggest Triathlon achievement to date.. and I stand proud wearing the Outlaw jacket!

Aside from my personal achievements in triathlon – I am proud to be associated/coach and founder of the Junior development we have at Boston Triathlon club, from starting with a handful of Juniors we have grown and developed to have podium contenders in the east midlands region. There is nothing more satisfying than seeing a junior compete and succeed from skills you have passed on and developed.

    Level 2 Triathlon Coach

I’ve been around the triathlon circuit for a while now and in that time I’ve completed a few different distances and enjoy them all. My favourite being middle distance and what I enjoy doing the most.

I’m now a qualified level two coach and enjoy coaching and the interactions that brings from adults and juniors. We have some great coaches now in the club and I’ve learnt a lot from the different styles each coach brings. Seeing the way the kids have all bonded with each other is something we can all be proud of as a club, they’re a real family feel to the group and the sessions.

  • Mick Huskisson
    Mick Huskisson Cycle Welfare Officer

My passion for Cycling has been developing for years being apart and running various clubs, I was approached by members of the Boston Triathlon club to form a committee which could offer local adults/juniors development in individual sports such – Swimming, Cycling and Running – before they took the challenge of attempting a triathlon.

My experience in cycling enabled me to lead beginners – advanced rides throughout the week – and provide advice and support for those concerned about the cycle discipline.

I have also found that working on my own Swimming skills and running skills has benefited my own fitness levels..

I also find the social aspect of the club means that every ability in all disciplines is welcome – and the assistance and help available is fantastic.

Other than coaching at Boston Triathlon Club my main passion is cycling I try and cycle two or three a week.  I have competed in a few 100k rides and enjoy cycling in the Lincolnshire Wolds.

I recently competed in the Triathlon Relays at Woodhall Spa with my Son and Grandson.

Boston Triathlon Club continues to flourish and has become the Top Triathlon Club in the area being awarded East Midlands Triathlon club of the year 2017 and 2018 a massive achievement and well deserved.

    Triathlon Level 2 Coach

I’ve always loved sport. I played 20 years of rugby including representing Boston RFC and Lincolnshire at county level. I’ve ridden road bikes since my mid-teens.  I also have a passion for the mountains and like to spend my holidays hiking and wild camping in the UK, skiing and I have climbed multiple 3500m & 4000m peaks in the Alps including Mt Blanc.

2016 was my first season of triathlon. My 1st and 2nd races were both 70.3 distance. But my greatest sporting achievement to-date was to complete Ironman Wales in Sept 2016. Going forward, I’d like to complete IM distance in sub 11hrs 30mins.

My aim for 2019 – is to complete the Triathlon X – brutal event recently entered….
