In order to kick start the New Year and combat the excess of mince pies and brandy butter consumed over the Christmas period, Boston Triathlon Club will be taking part in the British Triathlon / Go Tri “Tri January” campaign.
The challenge will be open to both members & non members as well as junior athletes. With four distances on offer there is a suitable challenge for everyone, starting at 50km for beginners then choices of 100km, 150km and 250km for the more experienced or adventurous. Each distance will have a dedicated Strava group for you to record your achievements and monitor both your and other club members progress.
For those successfully completing the challenge a commemorative event shirt designed by one of our Junior Triathletes will be awarded.
You can use any combination of the triathlon disciplines Swim, Bike, Run to complete the distance, however to be eligible for a shirt upon completion the following must happen.
- Those targeting the 50km & 100km options must complete at least one of each discipline in January at Boston Tri Club training sessions.
- If you choose 150km you must complete two of each of the disciplines with the club in January.
- Finally if you are looking to start January in style and are taking on the 250km challenge then you must complete one of each of the disciplines per week, of these three of each must be completed at a club training session.
Juniors are welcome & can join any suitable distance, allowances will be made for non swimmers, however non swimmers will have to show their commitment by going along to their local pool with a responsible adult & having a try.
Non members are welcome to take part, those signing up to the challenge will be able to participate in the clubs coached sessions throughout January as part of the entry fee. Tri January participation for non members also makes them eligible to join Boston Triathlon Club for £5 until Membership renewal in April 2019.
Cost will be £10 per Adult & £5 per Junior
You can sign up to this event at any of our remaining sessions before Christmas or any of the first 3 training sessions in January.
Payment must be made by January 5th in person or by bank transfer reference to be “Tri January”
I am inviting the juniors that confirm entry prior to 21/12/18 to design a simple Tri January logo for the back of the shirts.
Designs must be submitted by 31/12/18, anything after this date will not be considered.
The winning design will be used, the junior who produces the design will gain free entry to Tri January & Boston Triathlon Club Hoody.
