The AJ Bell London Triathlon has spent the last 21 years facilitating the dreams of triathletes across the globe and welcomes participants of all abilities.
The weekend consisted of the Sprint event on Saturday, 400m swim, 20km bike,5km run and the Olympic distance on Sunday, 1500m swim, 40km bike, 10km run.
This years event took part on the 4th & 5th August and saw Boston Triathlon Club have 5 athletes competing over the course of the weekend with husband and wife Ian & Rachael Satchwell competing in the sprint distance on Saturday. This was Rachaels first competitive open water swim finishing 19th in the 40-44 age group and raising £500 for Lincs & Notts Air Ambulance. Ian finished 15th in the 40-44 age group.
Amongst the many, Gordon Ramsay and his family also competed in the Sprint Relay enjoying the great weather and an amazing atmosphere finishing inside the ExCel London.
On Sunday, the remaining 3 took on the challenge with the bike route running along the banks of the river Thames passing a number of iconic London landmarks before turning for home at the Palace of Westminster. Lynsey Ballans competed in her first Olympic distance and finished 16th in the 40-44 age group, Liz Cannon competing in her second Olympic distance finished 5th in 45-49 age group and Fran Mills competed in the 50-55 age group also in her 2nd Olympic distance event, unfortunately a mistake on the bike meant no result was given, although she did manage to squeeze a TV Interview in on the run.
